Wild guess ...
Could NORM be 3rd or 7th from the right, 2nd row (right behind front row) ???
With those helmets and chinstraps it's tough to see the features properly ... I STILL can't pick out my Uncle Ed's face from the JUNE 1943 group photoe of RWR's, even after now having a photo of him. Well ... did I find Norm or not? Karmen |

I can still see that young man in the little documentary I saw with the older Norm. Well ... I'm quite tickled to have picked Norm out of the crowd, even after my third guess. 3 times lucky, huh? Cheers Art ... |

Karmen you may be thinking of the showtune "Johnny Get Your Gun". I believe it is from a US stage show WW I. It may even have been in a movie.

not quite
The song I'm thinking of goes more like;
"Johnny get your,get your gun, get your gun." "Put the Hun on the run, on the run, on the run." Now wait till I put my tin hat on, my head is allergic to flying frying pans. I believe it is from a show called "Yippity Yappity" or something like that. As a movie I believe it was called "This is the Army" with George Murphy, Ronald Regan, Kate Smith, Irving Berlin and others. Of course I could be all wet. |
