Default GMH Ammo Box?

A mate of mine came across this ammo box dated 1943 with GMH as part of the stamping. Also note the offset handles.
What's it from or for etc. -
He is into Holdens, myself military - who gets it?

40mm Bofors. 24 rounds in paper tubes. C216 was very similar but had a diagonal divider to hold 24 rounds in charger clips.

GMH-W stands for the Woodville plant in South Australia which did many of the pressings of body panels, and as you now know, other sheet metal products like Ammo Tins.

Default Much appreciated

Thankyou Adrian and Tony - so its more in place on the back of my Blitz than in the boot of my mate's HR ...
Though his grand dad was a rat of Tobruk - probably handled a few of these tins ...
