Default ammo box I.D. please

Hi,

I picked up this ammunition box locally this weekend, and was wondering if someone could please tell me more about it..

It's very heavy with a welded-on bottom, and the construction seemed unusual. Saw ".303" on it and the price was cheap, so..

Thanks, David

Default Ammunition Box

Any markings embossed on the lid or bottom?

Hello Ed and thanks for the reply.

I found no other markings anywhere on the box. Noticed that one of the edges is also welded where they joined the sides together.

Any guess to the date?

Thanks again, David

Default Ammunition Box

I am speculating that the box is post-SWW Belgian.

Thank you Ed,

Yes, I found one like it using your suggestion and a web search for Belgian ammunition cans.

It always amazes me how something like a .303 marked Belgian ammo can could find it's way into a dusty barn in Podunk, Texas....

Thanks again, David
