Default What Is This Object ?

Hello all. I have had this interesting 'vessel' in my collection for years and have carted it across the continent never knowing what it really was for. It is a steel outer and aluminium inner container with three clasps and a heavy insulated lining. It has an air vent valve on the top with a brass screw top. It stands about 72cm tall and measures 64cms around the outside. There is a D6D marking on the side of the body and also on the lid stamped in.

I have always thought it might have been a 'whole blood' transport container or other medical item ?

Cheers

Phill Hastings
