Default Saw this on a flat deck in Regina Sask.

https://www.canada.ca/en/department-...m-project.html

I did not grab a pic of the truck as it went by on the other side of the road and I could not grab one but this is the truck I saw. I had never seen one before and had to search for what it was.

Given that this is stated to be the replacment for the MLVW (rated 2.5 ton) and this monster has a rated capacity of 9.5 tonne, does this make the current replacement plan for the jeep or iltis something the size of an MLVW? Does the phrase "My thing is bigger than yours" apply?

Reserve units got a modified commercial truck by International Defense. If you have not seen one of those drive by the local International repair shop...there are always a half dozen in the parking lot. The military are only authorized to do very short 15 minute repairs...even the oil changes go downtown.
Regular force had to milk another 10 years out of the old MLVW, and now have the Mack (which is owned by Volvo. They also own Renault. The truck appears to be a Renault but badged as a Mack) MSVS SMP. The MLVWs, at this point, are now gone. Aside from the ones the museum here retained, all of ours went to the scrapper about 2 months back.
