Default Wooden model Dodge WC55. 37mm Gun Motor Carriage M6

I'm only into 1:1 scale models and I see faults in this. Half ton seats, M37 bonnet line, but all in all amazing work.

Hi Lynn
I feel uncomfortable correcting someones post on the forum but the high side seats were used on early 3/4 ton WCs. They had a lower back than the 1/2 ton.
I once owned a WC55 that had these seats.
Also, I don't follow your reference to the bonnet owing something to the M37. The M37 bonnet is one piece, hinged off the scuttle. The bonnet constructed for the model is correct with the two piece, butterfly configuration.
Perhaps I have misunderstood some of your commentary.
If so, apologies in advance.

David

Hi David, I'm o.k with your comments. I come here to learn, to help others, and for a bit of fun. I also take reassurance from others that I am not the only sick person on the planet.
With the bonnet, it appears( to me, looking down from above) that the sides are slighly curved. Maybe I didn't look properly? Anyhow I am amazed by his effort.
On the bucket seats, there are 3 variations that I know of, across the Dodge WC wartime range. The half tonners had a high backed seat with sides. The early 3/4 tonners had the low backed seats with the same sides and the later ones had the same height back with (virtually) no sides.
The factory photos of the WC55s (37mm Gun Motor Carriage M6) lined up out side of the factory, show them all with the "medium' seats. I have never seen any period photos of WC55s with anything else. (not that I have looked for that specifically)
I cant say what other early 3/4 ton WC models might have been fitted with, but the 5380 WC55s were all built under one contract, in 1942 only. Yes, there were changes in them (light guards, etc) but I dont believe seats was one of them. Cheers.
