Default Motor Engineer's Pocket Book

Hello All,

I came across a copy of a Motor Engineer's pocket Book for sale. It seems that they were a routinely republished item with different volumes made over the years.

The book is advertised as covering, "problems & service data pre 1950 vehicles, US & British".

I have not heard of the book before. Is there any value in my buying a copy?

Kind Regards
Lionel

Hi Lionel

Books like that are always handy

http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Book...0pocket%20Book

One of the best sources for books is ABE books online

Listed on ABE are millions of used books from libraries that dealers sell on ..the prices are dirt cheap , some are 5 bucks

The larger dealers have cheap postal rates

Hello Mike and All,

I managed to buy a copy of the Motor Engineers' Pocket Book off a seller on Gumtree. I received an email that stated that the Pocket Book was originally owned by the seller's "brother Arnold who was an Aircraft Mechanic in the RAAF stationed in England during WW11".

I may be using the Pocket Book when I start to restore my MCP 1940 Holden assembled Chevrolet ex-Australian Army General Service truck.

I think this makes me a custodian of both truck and "Motor Engineers' Pocket Book" that was later owned by a RAAF veteran during his return to civilian life. The Motor Engineers' Pocket Book is the 1951 edition.

Kind Regards
Lionel
