Weed sprayer - railway Land rover
This could only happen in New Zealand . Pics are via the Series 1 trans tasman forum . Thanks Brent .
With a full tank, one can only wonder about the braking ability of the LR on a downhill grade. Mike

Weed Sprayer
I notice its appropriately parked outside the Railway Hotel.
The driver is inside calming his shattered nerves. |

That would be a rather scary thing to drive!

Back in the day,
I saw it, or a similar one, on the Johnsonville line in the late 1960's. That is just north of Wellington. The first pic could be the Wellington Rail yards, which are close to the wharves: now part covered by the Westpac Stadium.
The third pic shows it on display somewhere..who knows where? Is it still in existence? Airfix Magazine had an article on building one in the early 1970's too. Rob |
