Need to know how these work, please
Hi lads , i'm a bit confused on sum things can someone enlighten me please? part CTL-35A how do these to parts work with the pivot plate CTL-36, How does it warp the track? is thier anyone out thier makeing new pivot plates and Rods? and the 2, 35A parts also? any help would be great! thanks

Your cam plate is mounted on a bearing on a stub axle on the floor. when the steering turns the cam plate, it shifts the cross tube(via the rollers) to one side, (say left) this moves your double bogies all to the left,distorting the centre of the track to the left. (max 3/8 inch) causing the carrier to turn slightly to the right(15 degrees) To explain that a bit more the carrier follows the direction of the curve in the track as it would appear if you were looking down from above. (if you observe a couple of "in use" track links on the pin, you will notice the lateral clearance which allows the links to shift sideways.)To make your right turn tighter you would turn the steering wheel further to the right.This brings into play the appliction of the right brake.
One of the Aussies should be able to post pictures and diagrams to explain all of this. When you have it all figured out how it all works then you will understand why the adjustments are so important for the smooth functioning of the whole deal. Hope this helps

There are two of these bolted to the hull cross shaft. The pins are eccentric allowing adjustment of the rollers to the plate.

The lay out is to all intents and purposes the same. but things are different behind the rear plate, so Big Mike needs his adjustment info from the Canadian (or Brit) carrier manual. The main differences are;
The parts mounted on the removable plate in the Aust carriers are direct to the floor in the Eng/Can carriers Your brake (and clutch pedal are round in section. Mike's will have a flat plated pedal Your pivot points are spigoted to the floorand welded Mikes are on triangular plates and held with c/sunk screws. Yours is all UNF, Mikes is all BSF. A very few parts will interchange (Cam plate rollers will) To apply the brakes on the Aust carrier requires a forward pull at the back plate whereas the Eng/Can carriers have bisectors requiring a pull toward the centre of the axle.

I knew It Thanks LYNN!!! THATS what are missing is the 2 Brackets with the rollors!!! BOB your info ENLIGHTEN me so much!!! Lads is thier anyone one Out thier that can reproduce these 2 brackets/rollors?CTL-35A. Plus a pivot plateCTL-36, your pics are exactly the same as my Pivot plate is. The CTL 34's holding the pivot plate on mine are in great shape, thiers less pitting on everything.
On my pivot plate the prevous owner took a grinding wheel and cut of about 1" of the left side of the plate rendering it usless for the rollors, so now i see he used the brakes to turn the carrier, witch is bad This would make my life alot easyer if I can get those rollor brackets and P. You should be able to get your cam plate repaired at a welding shop.

Yes I was at a welding shop today , They can make me a new plate, ThankGod for that , I'm a Big guy so when I stuck my fat head into that little cramped compartment ware those 2 bracket rollors are, I noticeed beyond belief thier was one still attached BUT!!!! the rollor never moved so i need to take it out and unfreeze it, but still any Canadians out thier make these parts?CTL-35A???, I'll be starting on my new muffler system in AM just piecing the pipe before I order my mufflers, anywho hope everyones enjoying a pint like I am rite now!!!

Contact cmp_uc_guy aka Rob Groves here on the forum. I believe he has the CAD template to manufacture the plate you need. As far as the block, I'm not sure.

Salesman Bob, is that a repro bracket you made or an orginal one, is that the type thats on the Aussi UC's? looks fairly easy to mill. rather buy one
