Default Please ID Chevrolet engine

Please ID this Chevrolet engine. As far as I know it is a 216 cid engine which was taken out of a CMP truck in Belgium many years ago. Last ran when taken out.

Serial number is WR 3830134.

Default Chev I.D.

The casting number behind the starter is the key to these motors. This list is pretty good for checking what you have. Looks like a standard 216 to me.

Default Engine

The WR prefix was used on many CMPs we have here in Australia, we also have PR and SR. Interestingly most of the 4X4 WO12 Signals vans have WR prefixes while the 4X2 WO73 seem to all be SR.

Thanks Graeme & Keith!

I will take a closer look at the webpage you posted the link of, Graeme. Looks like a very complete overview.

If it helps, the 216 engine earmarked for my C15 is WR3844231. I'm advised it came out of a 13 cab Chevrolet prior to me getting it.....

Owen.
