Default One June weekend

Hi all,

Rusty & I got busy & tore down a recently acquired F30. This is to finish my F15A, In around 14 hours (two days) we have the job mostly done.
Armed with nothing more than a few cold chisels and a tractor & some tools, we managed to... well you can see the results.

Points to note are that this truck has a single speed transfer case, it was fairly well modified, but the mechanicals were sound.

Sadly there was one serious casualty. My thumb, which was very badly bruised. Note to self: use a longer cold chisel.

Thanks to Rusty and his efforts. I have had a big adrenaline rush with a short trip in a blitz with no brakes, down a hill, with a mossy windscreen!

Important note: Clean windscreen PRIOR to moving any recovered truck!

Ian

Keep trying Ian! Can we also see a close-up of your thumb please? Just as a lesson to remind us to be careful in the future. I know I've done it before more than once!

Pulling old trucks to bits is fun.

Incidentally in your signature there should be no 'A' with F30.

Default How it should be done

Who needs OXY when you have a hacksaw and 5 spare blades. (I am cutting through 3/4 rod which is holding on the winch)...incidentally we used no gas in the interest of the environment. Lots of expletives made up for it though!

Note here I am wearing gloves. This softens the hammer blows to your thumb when you hit it (NOT) but it does prevent a lot of injuries to your hands.

Default The Best Bit

Yes normally I insist on gas for Rusty Nuts but Ian truely is a fantastic cold chisel champ. In fact I reckon that we write letters to all the show societies around the country and have Rusty Nut Choppin as an event right along side the wood choppin.

You left the best bit out Ian this truck has a reco engine, data plate for the rebuild gives full details of all work undertaken.

Picture of Ian after a thumb wack
