Default CMP quad + limber + 25 pdr gun

I had a call from someone who wishes to sell his Canadian CMP FAT quad along with the limber and 25 pounder gun. Details are sketchy, storage appears to be a problem, the reason for sale. It is situated in Northern France.
If anyone is interested, message me offline for more details.

Richard

Garry,
Thanks for that. There looks like there is interest closer to home at present. I am only passing the info on for the owner.

This is a Ford FGT. The owner was asking FF 135000 (€20580) for the combination back in 2001, when I photographed the FAT.

Richard,
The owner did not actually state a price, but intimated it would be less than another that had been advertised recently, what that was I do not know.
If you ring me tomorrow, I will give you his phone number, as I have it at work.

Default Now I've Gone And Done It

Several months a go a I raised a thread expressing my interest in purchasing a CMP vehicle particularly a gun tractor. With the help of several members on this forum I found what I was looking for and I now own a 1944 Cab13 Ford Gun tractor. So for your viewing pleasure I hopefully attach a photo.

Default French FAT

Richard,

I recall your intial query. Three months to find the CMP vehicle you want is quick - congrats on your purchase! Gun Tractors are nice, and this one is a Ford to boot! Would that happen to be the French one? If so, did you get the gun and limber as well?

Another picture of the French FAT goes attached here.

Regards,
Hanno

Yes it does happen to be the French one. Unfortunately I don't have any history of the the vehicle other than where I bought it, which is from the Battery Todt Museum near Calais. The previous owner can't remember where he got it from or quite how long he has had it. I would certainly be grateful if anybody does have any history on the vehicle.

Default FGT Canvas Top

I recently bought a Cab 13 Ford Gun Tractor (see "Now I've Gone And Done It") unfortunately one of the things I am missing is the canvas roof that goes over the crew compartment . Does anybody have any details of the shape or size of the cover so I can get it remade.

Richard Hughes.

Default FGT Canvas Top

As nobody seems to much in the way of details of the FGT Canvas top has anybody got any overhead photos of Cab 13 gun tractors (Chev or Ford) so I can try and work things out that way.
Once again any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default FGT Chassis Number

I am looking to register my Ford Gun Tractor for road use unfortunately I cannot for the life of me find the chassis number other than on the Data Plate on the door(hopefully original to the vehicle).
I have vague recollections of seeing a similar topic about Ford chassis numbers appearing on MLU but I can't find that either(I know I am not having alot of luck).

So the big question is do Fords have a Chassis number and where is it located ?????

Many thanks for any help
Richard Hughes.

Default A place to look

My F60L has the chassis number on the horizontal surface next to the right hand engine mount, I only found it because the nose piece is off the truck for repairs

Richard, you probably have things sorted out by now, but here goes an underside shot:

My pleasure, Richard. Mind you, I'm not sure if the picture shows the original set-up...restorer beware!
