I have acquired a 6 foot wooden handspike.
What is it for?

While the wooden prybar you show was originally for the British WW2 guns such as the 25 pounder, it is still found in Canadian weapons shops today. I saw them being used on the 105 howitzers for things like breech removal or lifting the barrel during removal. Being wood, it will not nick or damage the machined surfaces of these components.

I found a few of these at a surplus store in Calgary. The one I have now still has a Canadian NSN on it.

Rob thank you for this reply and I now know more about the 25 pounder handling.
