Default Do we have a thread on parts by country

Hi All

In our many threads on parts sources do we have a list parts sources by Country?

Reason I ask is about once a month I get an email from some body looking for a source of this part or that part. I get them because of my web site CanadianMilitaryPattern.com the reason for the name is a long story and not on topic.

This morning I got the following e-mail-

"Hi Phil. I am helping a mate rebuild the engine in an old 1942 Chev Blitz and am wondering if you know of anyone in Australia who sells engine parts, ie, gasket sets, oil seals, thermostat, etc. Regards, Dennis Burt. "

I of course directed him to MLU but it made me think it would be helpful if we could have a thread, or even remember to put the country of suppliers.

Cheers Phil

Default The short answer is no

Hello Phil,

I get similar questions. I have created the subforum "Parts/Sources/Prices" for this purpose and have moved your thread from the restoration forum to here.

Members and non-MLUers will have to put in their own effort to see which leads on Parts/Sources/Prices are useful to them. Often there are only a few sources e.g in the UK or in the USA. I always try to look for a local distributor and when I find any I try to make an effort to list them here.

In the end it is up to their own effort which members put into this forum to get any value out. Non-members should be encouraged to join the forum and add to our fountain of knowledge and information.

Regards,
Hanno

Default Now easy to send them a link

Thanks Hanno

That should it make it easier to point people in the correct direction.

My first line in responding to inquiries is to point them to MLU and explain that it is the best place to start a search or to ask questions. If I can answer their questions then I do, always look at time spent answering questions as paying it forward for all the people who answered my questions so many years ago when l started playing with these magical creatures CMPs.

Cheers Phil
