1939 Chevrolet VC (1.5 ton) Truck Generator Options...
As I dismantle the truck, I find more missing or incorrect parts, not unusual for something that old... I am trying to figure out the correct generator-voltage regulator combination for it...
If not mistaken, most 1939 big trucks had a single post (20 AMP) generator GM 1100502 (Delco 948-R) with a cutout relay, or an optional 2-post (25 AMP) generator (Delco 934-F) with voltage regulator GM 005858. Unfortunately, I don't have the original GM number for the (934-F) 2-post generator, but would like to make sure I come up with the right generator-regulator combination, since I think I will go with the 25 AMP system... There are also other models such as such as a 9200, 9390, so I am unsure what to choose/pursue... If anyone can make a recommendation, it would be greatly appreciated... Thank you |
