Default F60S Floorboard

Progress on the 1944 F60S has ground to a halt as the front brake slave cylinders were incorrectly machined and we are awaiting their rectification.
This means that all sorts of cab work cannot be completed.
One outstanding question relates to a slot to be found to the right of the driver's seat. There is no obvious use for it and I have seen the same slot blanked off on another F60S. Any ideas?
Actually there are various other apertures and tapped holes in the rear floor panel which I cannot think what they are for but I've not photographed them yet.
