Default Deactivated Sten For Sale and More

I have one of Rob Love's outstanding Mk.II Sten deacts I've decided to sell. It is a 1943 Longbranch with no Chinese markings, in exquisite condition, with one magazine, khaki sling, box-type loader and nine war-dated factory dummy rounds (DI) for display purposes. I'd preferably like to sell to a buyer in southern Ontario, where we could arrange the transaction for this weekend. Price for the lot is $300 FOB my house in Toronto.

ALSO...

I've been digging through my stuff and found a 4" cup discharger for a Universal carrier; I'd forgotten I'd had it! It comes with the firing cable and bicycle release, but NO rifle action (I never had one or made one for it). I'll never use the bloody thing, so it's available. Let's call it $75, and BTW, it's in it's original cosmoline. Southern Ontario is best again, not only because it's simplest for me but it's a heavy mother and you wouldn't want to pay shipping! Let's make a deal.

LASTLY...

I've also discovered more Pattern 37 web gear than I thought I had. Most of it's in excellent condition and includes canteens, large packs, a few small packs, standard ammunition pouches, some cross-straps, a couple of Mk.II helmets, holsters and assorted odds & ends (I haven't inventoried it all yet). Send me your wants and we can work something out.

You can PM me or email me, I will be here all day. Those who have my number can phone if you wish.

Thanks guys, I repeat I'd like to do this ASAP as I could use the cash.

Geoff

Dug out the following as well:

OUTFIT, FIRST AID, FOR TANKS AND ARMOURED CARS

It's a black-painted steel box designed to fit into a standard bracket on the above vehs. Mine contains the original label within as well as a casualty card, and ALL specified 'ingredients' excluding the morphine, eyebath and scissors (some bastard stole them no doubt). An outstanding original artifact. $100 will do it, and I'm probably being kind (but that's just the way I am ).

Full webbing list (what's left that I'm willing to part with):

This one sounds familiar; isn't it the one McStolly and I bought you to help you with your claim you would sleep in a proper fox hole in Beltring? The one that was later hand carried and delivered to you in Toronto? Eh?

Nope, that one still lives with me. This I had bought previously on Epay (you buggers are still going to pay for that! Imagine, an e-tool, not a proper t-handled shovel. The nerve of some people)...

The Sten is gone, but various bits of the web stuff is still available. One chappie wanted a whole set, but he won't answer emails, so that's off.

Any interest in a dummy 36 grenade and PIAT bomb?

Question A Purely Hypothetical Question

Why is is that some will email you frantically about whatever you might have to offer, then ignore your replies totally? I'm a bit pissed off. I would have thought that common courtesy would dictate at least a reply to the extent that "I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to pay what you're asking... would you take this instead?". Or even "Sorry, not interested but thanks".

This situation seems unique to Canadians... I've never gotten such treatment from our American friends. I don't know how some of the dealers out there actually make a living without pulling their hair out by the roots. My hat is off to you for your patience.

Here's the drill:

(1) I have stuff you might want.

(2) You write to me.

(3) I write back, giving you a quote on what you want.

(4) You reply indicating that we can do some business, or not.

This is NOT rocket science. What part of 'common courtesy' did you not understand? I gave you the courtesy of first right of refusal, yet you ignored me. That does others a disservice as well.

I did just conclude a deal with a gentleman who understands this concept. Delightful chap who knew what he was getting and didn't quibble about price. I'd never met him before but I'm sure we shall become friends. To anyone interested in what I have, the ball is in your court.

Geoff

Default Ranting ...

Geoff, I read the previous post re: lack of responses with some dismay but am even more troubled now.
I sent you a PM asking about pricing on your "Mills & Piat" on July 25 which you read on the same day.

Here it is, Aug. 2/05 and still no reply from you ?? I assume that they are both sold by now ?

I know that you are very busy running MLU and some others but ... you can't have it both ways.

Robert in Toronto

Sorry old chum, it got lost in the shuffle (I have almost 1200 PM's in my folders ), and we've had ISP troubles all weekend. I'm at work now, and will reply right away.
