My new MK2 dash
Special thanks to Doug Lavoie, who supplied MPB Lasertech in Edmonton, Alberta with a MK1 & MK2 dash to copy. I now have a good start on my carrier restoration. Total cost including bezels, was $318.35 plus shipping and applicable taxes.
If anyone wants the contact info, e-mail is: martind@mpblt.ca The phone # is 780-436-9750, Fax 780-437-1240, ask for Martin They e-mailed a quote, which I signed and mailed back with a bank draft. The plate that holds the switches even has the #'s stamped on the back: G31UCW-13029 F.M.Co 43. Isn't she beautiful? I'm looking for a MK2 dash lid now, to complete the shell. Phill,
I have just recieved your light for the instrument panel. It will go into the fabbed up bracket, shown in your pictures of the new instrument panel. I will send it along with the head light rim, and maybe a gas gauge, the gauge I will have to check on though. LazerTech is in the process of making up most of vision slot parts at this time. There are more items in the works planned for, but one project at a time. A lot of the patterns are coming off parts let by Rick De Bruyn and and Dave Good. Without their help, it would be a hard road to plow. Doug |

I didn't know about this thread.... ohhh that reproduction dash is a work of art. How is it cut from the steel at the fab shop, looks to be very accurate?

It is done with a Lazer cutter that is within .002". It is as accurate as the CAD drawing that the process follows. The fab`d parts are a great alternative to the origionals that are now very hard to find. As you may know, buying one of, with this process is expensive, but buying in muiltipuls is the way to go if you can.
Thanks, Doug |
