Identification? military ? civilian? White? Autocar? Mack?
Hi Guys,
Tomorrow I am going to eat at the Dreefzicht restaurant in Haarlem, The Netherlands with some friends. I believe the surrender of the Germans in Haarlem was signed there on 8 mai 1945. But what has this got to do with Softskin vehicles? Well, I just had a look on their website and came across the picture attached. It looks like some camouflaged truck, maybe White? Autocar? Mack? or is it a civvy truck which was repainted on some spots? Has anyone got an idea?? Regards, Alex van de Wetering |

Evening Gentlemen:
I would suggest it is likely a Studebaker K25, perhaps ex French Contract. A poor photo is attached. Regards Bill

Thanks Bill and Eric,
Indeed it looks like a studebaker, could be K25 or K30. Last night I read in one of Bart VanderVeen's books that they were indeed supplied to the French in 1939 and than captured by the Germans. Silly me......I was thinking it was a Canadian truck..... thanks, Alex |
