Default Indian Pattern Wheeled Armoured Carrier in Afghanistan

In a promotional video of The Weald Foundation - see https://www.wealdfoundation.org/About - a member of their staff mentions they have a plan to acquire and restore an Indian Pattern Wheeled Armoured Carrier. Some pictures of the well-known Mk.IVs in Kabul, Afghanistan, are shown. It would be great to see those examples saved. Let’s see what they reveal in due time!

We used to have a long running thread on the vehicles in the Kabul scrapyard here on MLU Forum. Sadly, for unknown reasons, it has gone missing. There were three Mk.IV wheeled carriers present till at least fourteen years ago.

I have split off this thread to gather any (new) info about these vehicles.

Both an Mk I or and an Mk IV have (re-)surfaced in Afghanistan. Pictures taken about 2 years ago, courtesy of Peter Jouvenal and Pierre-Oliver Buan.

Default trophies from AFG

There was a WW1 Ford Light Tank outside the FOB in Spin Boldak. I mentioned the location to a friend who was in Kandahar, and got a correct but direct Forget About It response. Fight the enemy - not collect souvenirs.

Skip ahead a few years. There was a story going around in the US armor (sic) publications that the tank had been recovered to the US as a gift from the Afghans to the Americans.
