Default 23rd RCA sexton markings

Can anyone tell me if the Sextons for this unit were marked with the white star during WWII?

Absolutely. The white star was ordered into use in May 1944, just prior to the invasion, in order to provaide a single, common, identifier for Allied troops.

Clive; Thanks for the information. That's what I thought. I wish I had pictures of such. The "experts" keep telling me I have mine marked wrong. They call the white star a US marking. Jesse.

Hi Jesse, here are some pictures with white star. There is no doubt , that some sextons had white stars.

If you check the link above, there are video documentaries of the 23 RCA. In it, you will see plenty of sextons with the star. Perhaps place ours cock-eyed, which was done on many of the Cdn vehicles to differentiate the vehicles from the US military.
