Default Here is another

I understand she still drives her Landrover. But here is another picture taken at the same time not the numbers on the trucks.

I think this one as been posted has anybody spotted others that might have been taken. I got this one as a post card at the Imperial War Museum.

Cheers Phil

These pictures were taken in the latter part of the war 44/45. The Princess was isued with a provisional driving licence at this time. It has been in safe keeping till recent times by one of her 'ladies in waiting'. Upon the death of this lady, it was sold by aution to rich collector, who subsiquentialy donated it to a new museum in Winchester. The licence was officialy handed to the museum by the Queen herself. I was asked to attend the event with my Austin Tilly..... I never got to meet her and it was a bloody boreing day.

This is wonderful video, first as it shows HM as a young person, but second and more important as a glimpse of the generation of our parents and grand parents. The film is strangely more interesting than the news coverage of the current Royal Family.

Cheers from a colonial

You may have heard Her Mum's reaction when Buckingham Palace was hit by a bomb: "Well thank God for that! Now I can look the East End in the face!" and once when Her Dad was being shown around a bombed area in Cheapside someone in the crowd was heard to say "Thank God for a good King!" and he immediately turned to the man and replied "Well, thank God for a good People!"

Sods these days are only interested in the empty half of the glass....
