Default Spring steel Enfield rifle brackets

Hi,

Looking for some Lee Enfield rifle brackets used to hold the rifle in a vehicle.

They are made of spring steel and grasp the wood and keep the rifle in place in CMP trucks, Universal Carriers etc.

Cheers,

Rob McCue

Default rifle clips

Hello Rob

There are two styles of rifle clips. #1 and #2.

One is larger than the other.

Brian Asbury in Canada had the smaller clips NOS. These were the ones holding the forestock in the CMP's while the butt plate was made of wood.

The larger style (which i am still looking for) was used to hold the rear stock when mounted horizontal, as in a jeep or Universal Carrier.

Photos in my earlier request thread.

thanks

Eric

Default rifle clips

Eric,
I'll have to check my clips and see if there is a stamping number with the size. They seem to be the smaller version that held the forestock of the rifle in CMP trucks. The buttstock rested in a wooden socket.
Years ago I saw an MB windshield frame with these clips welded to the windshield frame but just assumed that they were ex-CMP clips welded-on as a field expedient. Maybe they were a factory add-on. Also I did not notice if they were different sizes. Any chance they just bent and widened the CMP "smaller" style?
.... Brian

Default Rifle clip

Hello Brian

No they are different sizes as explained in my previous thread.

I am not sure what size Rob is looking for but you might want to get back to him pertaining to the smaller NOS ones that you have in stock.

Or i guess Rob can get hold of you.

Thanks

Eric

Default Rifle Spring Clips

Hello and thanks for posting further info.

I am indeed looking for both sizes, for holding the fore and butt sections horizontally, for use in a carrier or jeep as well.

I emailed this website;

http://www.ww2fabrications.com/britishairborne.htm

and they told me that they are reproducing these mounts, however they are currently out of stock, but were hoping to have some more produced in a few weeks.

I have attached two photos for examples.

Cheers,

Rob
