Default CMP interior lamp

This lamp is installed in the cargo box with canvas roof, as well as in the latest design of artillery tractor 7B3 body also with canvas roof.
In a photo you can see a Chevrolet Laat also with this lamp.
Is there a part number for this lamp? Chevrolet or Ford Design?
Was it also used in the sheet metal cabins as a map illuminator?

What's with the second dashboard above the windshield? I've never seen that before and it raises a lot of questions.

Hi Bruce

This upper dashboard is an addition from the last owner (No Factory Part), since he prepared the truck to travel, and needed an rpm counter, oil temperature gauge, vacuum gauge, and voltimeter gauge ....

Also add to steering column, a panel with directional ligth, hazzard, automatic and manual electric radiator fan.... the truck seems to be upgraded to run on Paris Dakar travel!

Thanks for the explanation. I half thought it was part of a deep water wading kit. But then again if the driver was wading up to his chest I bet the last thing he'd be worrying about is the oil pressure!! I also wondered that, if it was a duplicate dash, I can see how you could wire the duplicate gauges but I have no idea how you'd get a second speedometer in parallel with the first. At least I can stop thinking about it now.

All these instruments work so well, that I still haven't made the decision to remove them to leave the truck as factory as possible...

That lamp was used in the LAAT and early 8-cwt radio trucks, I believe. I think Alex has one for his C8?

Never seen that before, I'd say it is a postwar/ civilian adaptation.

Yes, the LAAT has 2 fitted, I think. The C8 and F8, both with the small as well as the long box, have one fitted in the back, but without the shield. Indeed I now have a complete one; thanks to Stefan and Egbert!

pictures attached are from Clive's Factory photos CD.

I don't have my files at hand, but I think the lamp is listed in the C8 parts list. I will check. I don't think it's a specific Ford or Chev design, but more likely a lamp that was sourced somewhere else and used by both brands.

Thanks for the photos and Info Alex.
It seems that it is a lamp that was present in the CMP from the beginning..

Attached are two pictures from the C8 body parts list....sadly the part number isn't of much use (?)

the lamp is marked with part number "919".....no idea if this points to another publication or if there is a cross reference.

Yes, but to be honest I only was aware of them factory fitted to 8cwt's and LAAT's. But, they could be useful in all sorts of CMPs', so I would not be surprised if they were indeed factory fitted to more CMP types.
