Hello

From time to time, it appears a wonderfull oldy to be sale mainly on a french web site "LE BON COIN". After a white 704 a MORRIS COMMERCIAL C8 is for sale. Following the information of the saler the truck is in good order. Nevertheless the original body has disapeared and a metallic roof has been added. For more informations see the address

Hi Mike,

I agree. The brush bar supports indicate C4, as do windscreens, also I note it has slinging rings on the front, which were introduced on most British vehicles around late 1943 onwards.

Serge, nice find! Are you going after it?

As pointed out by Mike & Richard, this is most likely a C4, not built in 1938 but sometime during the latter part of WW2.

Hanno

The truck is very attractive but I have no more place to start a such restoration. The saler wish 4500 euros for the vehicle but I think that the price could be reduced

I trieed to get in contact.
If price changes down it's sertanaly a vehicle witch i will pick up.
Distance about 1000km. If it only would be for some spares.

Still work waiting and at a verry slow progress......
Every year i'll get more bits to get it compleet.
last year tow hook section and this year may be some rear body hoops.

The MORRIS COMERCIAL displayed on the HMVF forum is the truck which was for sale in "le bon coin". I think that the truck has been sold and the new owner is locking for identification data.. Following his name , it's seem that the truck is always in FRANCE. To set the girl in it's original state I wish a good luck to the new owner.

I have started to restore this morris commercial C4, produce around 1943/1944, but have no time to continue. Every parts have been dismantled, sandblasted and painted with anti-rust. Motor and brakes complete. I have made new rear wooden box. Need 5700€ or swap with WW2 motorcycle or WW2 militaria possible. Vehicle located in France / Brittany, near Roscoff.

hi John, it used to be a wireless truck and fond some information that it might be a light warning truck (radar installation).
I will need to dig a bit deeper to find the right answer!
chassis number is 2202 c4 /wt3357.

Will be a good company for my Bedford QL and Triumph 3hw.

I've got chassis number 2280 C4/GS 9xx. Looks like you have a short weel base version of a C4.
Picture has been taken at the day off collection in the south off france.
Still happy with it, but still not ready to go.

The one in "Phantom" markings? I think it was sold to someone in Belgium (?), who started a restoration.

Driving through Brittany ......and military vehicles....it doesn't get much better than that!

Guy, I noticed you found the thread on HMVF with the C4 Wireless in Belgium. I thought the thread was on MLU, but couldn't find it.
Any luck in contacting the owner? I think I have some pics of the truck from an event in Holland a few years ago.

Attached are a few pics of the other Belgian C4....taken a few years ago in Overloon.
