221...85 hp. That is providing you are talking about the more common mk1 or mk2 carriers. If talking about a Windsor or a T-16, then larger engine.

. . . Francis... for your UC-2 mortar carrier project, as it did not come with any engine ... consider installing the 239 block . .

Default Glad to see you are still alive..........

Hi Francis......

Are you looking for a runner or complete engine for a rebuild????

We have two complete blocks / tranny at the Barn but not sure how to identify them......

I have seen the largest flat head V8 last fall....huge but not a tank engine....was told it was a 340 or 350 something....just sitting there....... if any one is interested!!!!!!!

Cheers

You can also make an 8BA engine form the late 40s, early 50s work. You will, however, have to either cut the floor of the carrier (ouch) or cut the bottom out of the oil pan and shorten it. I went the latter route with great results. The 8BA has great oil pressure, gives the extra horsepower, and has the distributor up top which is great for repairs. I put one in my carrier as a temporary measure during it's restoration, but have been in no rush to install the original.
