Default M10 C 17-Pdr SP

Hi there

As anyone read or seen mention of ammunition handling in the M10-17pdr in action?

Would the six ready rounds in the turret been used first, then rounds from the sponson stowage? Or would they have been kept untouched for use in an emergency.

Working on a model and would like to show the ammunition stowage properly.

thanks

Steve

You use the rounds in the turret when in a hurry and replace them as soon as possible with the rounds stored in the sponson. Thus you always have the maximum number available if things get busy. Unless on exercise you don't often fire the gun without being in a hurry as it would give away your position and waste ammunition. This applies to any tank.
