Default Work of art

While the original CMP is a work of art of course, here is proof that a CMP can be made to look really ugly

Careful guys, you may cause distress with our English brethren who cherish similar works.

Default Strathfield body works

That’s it Rob, the Strathfields must be of British descent. They copied the look and upright seating position of British COE trucks.

"The Strathfield's" aren't a family, Strathfield is a suburb of Sydney. I'm sure that at some time, somebody was proud of that bodywork.

SBW have long gone out of business, but they were well known for their work that was seen on Sydney's roads for years. Everyone knows an Arnott's Biscuits truck when they see one, and A.J. Bush's meat vans were always about back in the day when there were daily deliveries of meat and biscuits to suburban corner stores.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as the saying goes... also it's so ugly it's beautiful! Looking at the Cab 13 mudguards and wooden steering wheel I'd say it was once a 1943-ish C15A. Perhaps even something like a Signals van totally repurposed. And given it was made by a prominent Sydney motor body builder perhaps it was not just a one-off...

I'm glad I wasn't having my tea when I opened up the thread.
