Default Mk1 Carrier rear seating arrangement

Hi All, On a Mk1 standard stowage configuration carrier there is a seat cushion as i understand it on the rear drivers side fuel tank, this is featured on page 246 of Nigel Watsons vol 1 book. Am i correct in thinking the seat cushion is mounted on a wooden board in someway?. Also on the inner angle iron that supports the wooden tank cover there are two cut outs, are these for locating in postion the board cover?, Its difficult to know how to replicate this area with no pictures that i can find.

can anyone help please?.

I think by studying the parts manual this seating arrangement is the same over both fuel tanks on a Canadian tank hunter carrier, but the wooden board may have been covered with a metal sheet for fuel tank protection due to the nature of having a 2 pdr firing above them?.

I have attached a picture of a board over a fuel tank, is this correct and how is the seat attached?.

kevin.

if i recall the seat pad was boxed in and a webbing type strap held it onto the board, again this was from Nigels book Kevin so i cant add anything you dont already know..... its interesting to see the base board in situ on that carrier, I beleive on the Mk1's there was only one seat over the drivers side fuel cell, i am unsure about the gunners side, i know that on some carriers tey had a fold down type seat on the center divider behind the gunner.
