Thanx for your positive remarks Rick, but the website you mention is the wrong one. It should be

By the way: volume three is out in september. Practically devoted to Allied stuff, including CMP's. Here is one already...

Sorry about that, Theo. I took the web details off your card, not off the web.

Still lovely books and looking forward to book 3.

Regards Rick

Hi Hanno!
Why the C8A change the headlamps?
Any explanation?

Hi Mariano, there was a shortage of headlamps as many trucks had one to begin with, others were missing or broken.

As there was hardly any supply of spares (all sent to Argentina to be stored away for deacdes ), they just used any available headlamps and made them fit.

Useful fire engine conversion, but it didn’t improve its looks...

“Chevrolet C15A met een carrosserie van de firma Vogelaar en een brandweer technische inrichting van de firma van Bergen. Deed dienst vanaf 1947 tot 1959 als autospuit bij brandweer Vleuten.”

Default More Dutch CMP based fire trucks

Triggered by a C8A-based fire truck coming up for sale again, here are more photos of CMPs converted to fire trucks after WW2.

The coach builder De Jong based in the town of Sleeuwijk converted a number of C8A into this sleek looking fire truck:

Wasn't there a similar, but unrestored, vehicle in Bert's auction in Berghem?
