Vickers light tank question

Is the suspension/bogies and track the same as the Universal carrier on the Vickers pictured below.

I would say yes. Much of it will be the same.

that the Aussies went to the 4" bogie wheels and wider track on the LP2 series to be compatible with the light tank series.

Can any one check this on a survivor of the light tanks?

I would like to see the answer to this as well along with some dimensions thrown in.

The only measurement mentioned in the discussion thus far was that the thicker bogies had a half inch more width than the standard carrier. At 40 pages plus I would not want to sidetrack the theme with questions about dimensions, but surely someone there would know?

In the same thread it was stated that the drive sprockets were the same size as well. It would be good to know if any diameters changed with the running gear when Australian carriers adopted the wider track as used by the Vickers light tanks or just the width of the bogies increased?

Jack, The VLT MkVI B Has track of the same dimensions (wider wheels and rubber and track horns, Than English U.C)) as the Australian LP2 and 2A. However the bogie wheels have spokes that look like an English or Canadian U.C. wheel (but wider by the nominal 1/2 inch.
Bearing sizes are the same (100 x 40 x 27mm, I think?) All clear as mud?

Hello Lynn thanks for dropping in with this info along with clearing up the track detail - yes it was the guide teeth that was set a bit further apart to accept thicker wheels. Still muddy though are the outer diameters of the rubber and drive sprocket for both the carrier and VLT MkVI.

Have searched the forums a bit more and read that for the standard carrier the thickness was 2 and 1/2 inches so that must mean the thicker wheels became 3 inches.

Carrier bogies were outer diameter of 20 inches but the last or third wheel was a bit smaller at 19 inches - why? Have not found anything about the light tank. I know you mentioned bearing sizes were the same but does that automatically mean the outer diameters of the rubbers would be the same too?
