Ford CMP brake light switch
Question. If I remove the brake light pressure switch at the back of my F8 master cylinder, does this open up and therefore start to drain the hydraulic fluid? Or is the pressure applied to the switch through some sort of sealed membrane? If it is going to drain and need refilling/bleeding then I'll wait for the warmer weather in my unheated garage! Not a job for minus x degrees!

Seal..hole...leak...
Hi Dave..
Yep the reservoir is bored and threaded and the seal is on the treads and in the stitch itself..but with the top on the reservoir and sealed tight,be it screw type or clamp type if you unthread the switch without taking the top off you should have little leakage ..if you are quick..it is like punching one hole in a can.. Although it is better to drain the reservoir and flush it at the same time as condensation and crud and crap tend to settle in the res over time..I use break cleaner as it dissipates fast and leaves no residue.. There should be no pressure build up in the reservoir.
