Default unknown thingy

I wonder if anyone can id this bit of kit that I've had for years. It looks like it should be involved with cleaning an item that emits projectiles. The cord is 27" in length.

That appears to be the pullthrough that comes in the C1 SMG cleaning kit. Those are the ones with the little green plastic/nylon box with the built in oil bottle. But the C1 rifle pullthrough is also very similar. I would have to check my kits at home to determine which, by length, is the correct application.
Below is the C1A1 and the C1 SMG kit:

Look very closely on the brass for letter PH and 30. Maybe even a proud ENGLAND in smaller font.

Hi Terry, I had a look at it under a magnifying glass but there are no markings that I can see. There is a lot of crap on the brass bits so I'll get one of our conservators to give it a bit of clean.
