Hey Ed,

could you do a look up on an Iltis?
CFR is 87666
Unit would be either 1 MP Regt, 15 MP Coy or 12/11 MP PL.

Cheers!

Vik you know as much as I do, your MP Iltis was disposed of from ASU Chilliwack in January 2007.

The VMOs show it was part of 12 MP platoon in the latter part of it's life. Right towards the end it was also sent to the BCDs for a conversion course.

MTEC 0033 is CFR78524. It appears to have spent it's entire service life with 1PPCLI. (June of 86 to Aug of 95).

Your Manic M101 Model 40108 Trailer serial FA44 was CFR 81-44116. It was accepted in April 1982 and disposed of from CFB Valcartier in April 2000.

You are in luck! GMC M217CDN 55-57881 serial 120704369 ECC 124503 was disposed of in August 1986 from ASU/CFB Petawawa. I have two photographs of the vehicle in my collection.

Having the exhaust repositioned to the front was one of the unique features of the M217CDN.

Default Iltis 87937

Iltis with tailgate 87937 was disposed of out of ASU/CFB Petawawa in November 2005. You are in luck, as I photographed your Iltis at a CFB Petawawa open house in 1988 and I have additional information on this vehicle. It was first used by 3 RCR until April 1986 and then with the Canadian Airborne Regiment until January 1999 when it was transferred to ASU/CFB Petawawa.

This photograph shows it with a M100CDN.

I'm in the middle of restoring this, I was wondering if you can make out the unit marking number in your original photo ? The watermark is hard to make it it out but looks like 013?

Would like it to be restored with original markings.. cheers

I purchased an LSVW in November - I'll pause for the inevitable groans, but I'm actually loving it. I submitted an ATIA request to DND, but apparently since I bought it third hand (thus I don't have the original sale paperwork from GC Surplus) and don't have the CFR number, they don't have any information on it.

And because they apparently don't have any information on it (despite having and providing the VIN), the information they don't have includes the CFR for the vehicle.

The VIN is 2WKCEFYW9PKLS2147.

Thanks to information the seller had, the information I have is that it was surplused out of CFB Petawawa, I presume sometime around 2016 since it was registered in NB that year. The vehicle was purchased and shipped to Moncton NB, where it was owned by the first gentleman until earlier this year, then purchased by the second owner, and subsequently purchased by myself.

After removing some of the primer paint from the hood, we've discovered the vehicle was assigned to 438 Squadron (Tactical Helicopter) in Montreal QC. So far this truck has an awesome story, I'm just missing the damned CFR!

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Default M151a2 cfr?

Trying again to see if this is a serial number for my M251A2.

I found “42323” on a plate on the transmission, so wondering if that could be it. I know SN should be on the body tub - mine shows 74-95011292 on the tub. You’ve said that number isn’t in the CFR database, but I guarantee that this is a former CF machine.

Could you check to see if 42323 could be the assigned CF serial?

Thanks!
Sean

Unfortunately 42323 does not fall within the CFR range for Canadian M151A2s.

Would it be possible to find information on an Iltis BI01-11-84-86115, CFR 86115?

Or CFR 86454 ?

I would really appreciate any information available.

Thanks!
