Default f15a

George. Is the box steel or a wooden one. I think if I make one it would be easier to use wood. I am wondering about finding another frame. Mine was cut off just behind the rear leaf spring mounts. see photo. If you know of one let me know.
Were there many CMPs used in the north?

Thanks
Phil

Default Tires mounted backwards...

Phil..
Good looking so far..I noticed your tires are mounted wrong..The point should hit the ground last..not first when rotating forward..
They would be right if you were driving in reverse ,but mainly you use the forward gears..
Nice truck..

Default 10.50x16 tires backwards

Hi Alex. Your right. I mentioned this to john mcnarry, thinking that all tractors have the point hitting first. he said you were right .its in the manual. I am looking for new tires. The ones in the photo are 10.50x16 and the front are 9.50x16. The back was likely trying to pass the front on the road. lol Anyone know what the 10.50x16 were used on. They are stamped British 1943.
Found a place that sells the MRF tires found in posts here. MDF Tire Canada inc. sells them. Haven't heard back from them yet. Don't know if there is anyone else in Canada.

Default Tyre direction and size

It depends on your application. If you want your front tyres to last well on the road then you want the outer ends of the chevron hitting the ground first. If you want you truck to perform well in the mud then you will want the center of the chrevron getting to ground first. this will have the effect of pushing the mud from under the tyre to the sides allowing the tyre to bite in the hard. I believe that if you check, you will find that during the various printings of CMP manuals, that both ways were recommended at different times of printing. The arguements here are as varied as the variations of usage, just like the rolling diameter of your 9.50x16 just might be as big as the rolling dia. of the 10.50x16 depending on manufacturer. for example I had three different Dunlop track grips That varied a lot ( a variety of run flat and non runflat, all 9.00x16,s)
