Default My ford 1942 canadian mb gpw

This is my pride and joy - my restored /rebuilt 1942 Ford GPW re-done in the colours of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment as it served in Holland in WWII. My Dad was with the regiment, so this vehicle is dedicated to him and all those who served.
I drive it every weekend in the summer and have put 4000 miles on it since the build - 6 years ago. Tough on gas; tough on backs; tough on arms (Armstrong everything) - but what fun!
I have all the correct equipment for it including weapons to mount - Bren, Sten, Enfield, equipment, etc., Looks quite deadly when all 'dolled up'.I also wear the uniform of the 'Lincs and Winks' when displaying it.
Who has more fun than Old Guys wanting to be Young Guys but with Old Guys money :-)

Many years ago my regiment was teamed up with the L&W for an exercise. They mixed the HAST&PER(Hasty-P's) with the L&W to form the Tecumseh Fusiliers. The 1st night in the drinking mess we were on one side and the L&W were on the other side and to break the ice I shouted out "three cheers for the links and dinks" and they yelled back "three cheers for the hasty perverts" and we spent the rest of the night getting plastered.... a great bunch of guys

My Dad would have loved that - being a Linc and Dink - and he'd have gotten plastered with you...good times!
