Default Bonjour M. Gravel.

I bought a complete antenna in the box from you some time ago. Was very pleased with the purchase.

I usually watch your stuff on Ebay.

What are you trying to sell bulk......? May be some interest here if you post in the For Sale section...... chap called Gregg Wright sells a lot of uniform stuff he may be interested.

Send me a PM and will communicate by direct email or telephone.... je suis bilingue.

Hello Roger!

I have added you to my ebay contacts. As already stated, advertising in the 'For Sale' section here on MLU should get good results. Dont forget photos too! I can't read (I'm having the cat type this for me).

Johnny Canuck Canada aka Geoffrey Truscott

Question: When one checks bids on eBay the name is scrambled, how does this help? The only one that shows is my own.

Member Id: johnnycanuckcanada( 1549Feedback score is 1000 to 4,999) £29.00
Member Id: 6***3( 348Feedback score is 100 to 499) £26.89
Member Id: b***e( 325Feedback score is 100 to 499) £26.00
Member Id: b***e( 325Feedback score is 100 to 499) £19.00
Member Id: b***e( 325Feedback score is 100 to 499) £12.00
Member Id: s***s ( private ) £1.00

Or can this just be used to defeat eBay fees, nudge, nudge, say no more??EH!?!%

Geoff

Good point, Geoff. It did work up until a few years ago, and then eBay cranked up their privacy rules. Not sure they have consistent rules in every country though.

Yes all id's are scrambled here. Because of threads like this I think ebay realised they lost out when friends didn't bid against each other.

Default If you look at the date of the first message ...

Jeff started this in 2003 when the full ID was shown.

It looks to me that the 'scrambled' IDs are just the first and last letters of the real ID, reversed, so my ID, GWIM2, shows up as 2***G

Holy crap I was going to say you win the cookie, must work at Betchley Park, but unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the case.
Although after looking at a number of previous auctions there is a weakness, my bid ID shows as n***o (1550{a red star}). This doesn't correspond to my eBay ID of Johnny Canuck Canada, so no cookie; but after looking at a number of past auctions with competitive bids it is always n***o (1550 and a red Star).

So Johnny Canuck Canada aka Geoffrey Truscott appears to be n***o(1550Red Star)
Busted!!
