Default An amazing journey

Last weekend in Marree during the Back of Beyond 50th celebration, this lovely C60L rumbled into town on it's way to Birdsville, then across the Simpson Desert the hard way - ie climbing the steep sides of the dunes, some of them 100 ft high. Jeff Fullwood faces over 1100 dunes in the 440 km crossing.

Outback mailman and star of the Back of Beyond, Tom Kruse signs the door. Tom made many such trips in CMPs in the 1940s and 50s and was delighted to see the old truck. Here's some more information on the Back of Beyond

A legendary truck in front of the famous Marree pub.

Lots more pictures here.

Wonderful stuff, Keith! Good to see the "Bushtrucker Man" attracts so much interest.
