Hot Wrench is a term for a destructive method of removing stubborn nuts and bolts, also known as Gas Axe for bigger jobs.
It is sometimes possible to release a seized thread by the gentle application of heat from an Oxy/Acetylene torch. This may be sufficient to remove the offending Nut/Bolt, but the heating affects the temper of the steel rending the item un-reusable. If it doesn't loosen it up, hitting the Oxy and melting the nut off will certainly remove it, but it may damage the surrounding material, or even make it harder to remove the bolt/stud due to slag.

Hot Wench is something entirely different.

Tony..
In the real world,a gas axe is a chain saw...
Oxy-acetylene is a "red" wrench...
Hot wenchs are located at Grace O'Mally's bar and Grill, home away from home for the Ottawa Chapter of MLU...as Jif will testify to..as he has fallen in lust with all of them on many occasion..acting like a ranty old bull when ever we let him out at one of our occasional events at Gracies..which is not often enough and we are over due for spring call..

Alex, I note with interest the use of the word "old" when describing Geoff, which would explain why he "walks" down to chat up the heiffers...as for the Gracie's call, all will be revealed (give us a range of weekends that you will be available - keeping in mind the usual milestone weekend events).
