Default Canadian Kodak Company Mk. III Prismatic Compass

I recently acquired a Canadian Kodak Company (CKC) Mk. III prismatic compass probably of late war manufacture which was reconditioned by CAL in 1951 and subsequently marked with a NATO stock number (NSN). The compass has a dial graduated in both degrees and mils. All CKC compasses I have been able to find have dials graduated only in degrees. Does anybody know if the dual degree/mil scale dial on this compass was a CAL reconditioning or a CKC late war modification? Pictures attached.
