Default Spare sight no1 mk1

Looking for info on a box I picked up on the weekend. Looks like the rest of the 25 pdr boxes I have.
Would like to know what sight it carried and for what gun.
Box made by Mc&P dated 44.

I can't help you on the sight, but I just wanted to mention that you guys in the southern hemisphere need to flip your photos right side up so we in the northern hemisphere can see them. Little wonder the sight itself is missing...the box was upside down.

As soon as I saw Euan's photo I knew that was coming.
Rob, you would have to agree that all the extra stuff on the planet is at the "top" (stuff like war surplus vehicles, most of the continents, highest mountains, most of the people etc. Agree?
The next thing you'd have to agree with, is that if you put a weighted floating ball in water, the heavy bit goes to the bottom. Agree?
Who says you guys are at the top? I reckon some northern hemisphere dude wrote the book.

Lynn:

I don't want to meander away from Euan's question, so I will have to sort out your liberal/artistic way of thinking solidly and quickly. The answer is quite simple, and not-debatable.

We are in the North. You are in the South. North is up, South is down. Just look at any globe and you will see.

I can understand the confusion however, as your photos show upside down, so there is no point in my posting a photo of a globe as it will just further muddy the issue.
