Default 'Z'Number question.

I was wondering if it is possible to tell what make and model the number Z5252056 might be from? it is obviously British WW2 but that's all I know!

Any help would be great.
TIA
Matt.

Default Answer!

Your friendly so-called expert says:
Z 5250268 to 5252267 to early contract S.3054 'Truck 15-cwt. 4 x 2 Water', i.e. Bedford, Model MW [?]. The contract was placed in 1940 I believe.

How's that!

Default Thanks David!

Thats just what I needed.the number comes from a 200 gallon water bowser which I have bought for my Dodge D-15.I know it's not exactly the right one but it will do for now.the tank has all it's original paintwork including the unit markings but as it's not home yet I havn't had a good look at them.
Matt.

Default Z cars

You fellas have been watch too many re-runs of Z CARS on TV .

The cops were running around in Ford Zodiacs and Zephyrs as I recall , watching it in the 1960's .

The cars had a peculiar bell like clanging sound , like a alarm going off .

Default Z-Cars

They used Ford Zephyr Mark 11 and Mark 111 cars, painted YELLOW not White because Yellow looked more 'white' than White! They also had electric bells on the front bumper.
