Default brake drum

hi all

looking for a rear brake drum for a 5/4 ton (5 quad) chev truck, circa 1975-76. any leads would be most appreciated.

They are just a commercial drum, and can be found on many civilian vehicles at the wrecking yard including chev vans and of course one tons. They are also available new from the jobbers. Rockauto.com is one of the largest and most reasonably priced internet suppliers, and has them listed new.

One of the harder items to source for the 5/4 ton is the hydro boost for the master cylinder. Origionals are unobtainable, however one of any full size chev van can be adapted to fit with a few adapters for the metric fittings. Often these boosters leak oil into the cab, making a mess out of the floor but as with all chevs, the oil leaks prevent the inevetible chev rusting.

Default Try some of the guys on the West Coast

Crown assets in Richmond, B.C. sold several tri-walls of 5/4 t. parts years ago which I think were snapped up by Ian Newby or one of the other Western Command guys. I remember seeing several NOS brake drums then. Derek.
