Default Very nice!

Have you had some sort of expert around to identify it?

And... let me guess... you're looking for some 3 1/16 standard size rings...

Yes it is a 25 Pdr Box, also for the 2 pdr I believe. I have one at work with markings still stencilled on it. I will post what it says next week.

Default visitor

I had a visit from Mike Cecil yesterday and he managed to identify the box otherwise it has sat here for a few years not knowing what it was. Mike also had a mate from tasmania with him and they were only going to come for an hour and they stayed all afternoon, that's not like me. We started the carrier up and went for a run to inspire Mike's mate to get on with his.

Default Spares box

If you look around the bottom edge you should find stamped into the wood markings like " parts 25 pdr" and a date, usually 1941 and other markings.

The box sits on the shield lower right in that bracket that you keep bashing your knee into.

Default box

this one is dated 1942, was used for many years by a wood cutter to carry his tools in.

Correct, I have one here. Bought it in a dump store when I was a kid not knowing what it was, other than an "army box". I still have it and am now saving up for the complimentary 25-pdr gun, limber and gun tractor (in reverse order)
