Default You got to love MLU

Hi All

You have got to love a forum where people are reading really OLD THREADS and adding new or additional information and photos. To see new questions on threads that have no new post in five years says something about the value of the information. This week there have been a couple that go back more than 10 years and some to the very start of 2nd generation of MLU Forum.

Though some of the people who started these treads are gone, they are not forgotten.

Hopefully MLU will continue to be a source of information for many many moons.

Cheers Phil

That is why MLU is far preferable to facebook, posts on which seem to disappear before they are fully explored. I find a quick google with whatever term I am looking for, along with MLU will get me to some of the older obscure threads here where our search function is sometimes lacking.

I fully agree. No need for a bad working parallel internet that calls itself "social", when you have a forum with a wealth of information.

Phil, yes, it's definately good to see that older threads come back to the top every once in a while....and even with the original posters not there anymore, others will still continue adding information. Well.....thats basically what you said already

Totally agree Rob, FB is absolute rubbish and I cannot see why people are leaving forums to set up FB groups. Forums are user friendly and FB is definitely not!

And most other forums usually complain when some "resurrects" a dead thread from years ago; "Didn't you read the date!", "This thread is years old!" Not MLU, that's how we work.

This forum is an inexhaustible source of information and I really enjoy it.
My browser already has saved site:http://www.mapleleafup.net putting what I need to search before and magically the answers I am looking for appear.
Thanks to everyone who contributes information and photos!!

My browser has the following order (picked by the computer, not me but based on my viewing preferences):
1) gmail inbox,

2) brandon mb weather, and then

3) MLU forum.

then a dozen others.

Richard, I agree. I keep an eye on FB pages, answer the occasional query or question, put up the link to my newest book, keep tabs on my Aussie friends who have no interest in MLU, and not much else.

Pity so much 'good stuff' seems to be wandering off to FB when it used to be posted here.
