Are you all still asleep from the tryptophan in your turkey dinners?

Wakey-wakey boys and girls!

PS: I have some new Canadian boyfriends! Tom and Rupert are their names... real tall stand-up guys. The silent strong and tough types. A little immovable but hey, shows character and perserverence of focus. Great soldiers!!! Dressed to kill too. Very nice. Nope... they aren't wearing kilts... khaki green ... is in

Default Wide awake, yet motionless with steely glare!

Oh my dear, and yes, well, uh, hmmmm ... those ARE my darlings. However did you come to have photos of my guys? As you probably are well aware, they are NOT very communicative with me. Just very vigilant, therefore any yappity yap from the likes O' the wee bittie missy me never gets any answers : ... even as I sit here hunting and pecking yaps they stand wide awake, yet motionless (eemotionless?) with steely glare

PS: Tom and Rupert are dressed a little differently today! Really must wash their clothes

Default Not Tom or Rupert.

These 2 blokes and 1 joker are not Canadian, but may be related to Tom or Rupert. They too are poor conversationalists, but in a CMP at speed you need to shout to be heard so there's little use for idle chit-chat. They have go in the truck becuase they complain like buggery if we have to walk.
This pic was taken at an informal get together in the Shed. The Officer (Major Disaster) sits ramrod straight waiting for the steward to bring his meal (knock it off, Mate, you get your own!), while the Aussie (Gunner Dooit) and Kiwi (Baa Steward) kick back on the Beer lounge watching "Colour of War - The Anzacs" on the telly. Major Disaster is in a ropeable mood regarding the discourtesy to an officer and is not talking, while Gunner Dooit and Baa Steward are engrossed in the movie and hardly breathing. Gunner Dooit has finished his mug of rum (before intermission!!) and is now has VERY glassy eyes.

Men : and a sigh too .....

and ah yes ... I can see now (after putting on my fibocals and utilizing my magnifying glass that those two (3) gents are NOT my Tom and Rupert at'all at'all ... thank goodness for that as it sounds like THAT lot would be a verra bad influence indeed, IN-deed, on my stand-up, silent but "always there for me" boys.

Yes ... THERE is Tom to my right by the bookcases (and he NEVER even picks up a book to improve his knowledge : ... and there, directly in front of me, up against the wall (a tad hungover I wonder? Though I have NEVER seen him take a drop of anything) Handsome lads, both of them, even if they AREN'T in kilts! Ever vigilant ... looking out for me

CANADIAN TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No doubt with a bit of the Scottish blood in them both though ... so I amm having some tartan sewn up into kilts for them... MacKenzie tartan is my preference.

You just keep those bad boys aways from my good boys... you hear me Master Tony? Elst I'll be bringing my skillet to meet you if ever I'm that way.

Default Master Tony?

Master Tony my fine Aussie friend ... I do believe that you may be correct about your boys and my boiys being related ... I would hazard a guess as to them being DISTANT cousins. No? Yes?

Also ... IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE??? Actually 2, one a medical doctor, preferably a rheumatologist, and the other a psychologist or psychiatrist?

I have been ever so worried about my guys ... they are silent, yes, but what concerns me more is 2 things:

1) I'm deeply concerned that my boys may have serious issues with arthritis. Either that or rigormortis has set in prematurely. Maybe I need a coroners opinion as well? I hope not ... I'm very attached to my boys.

2) I'm also deeply concerned that my boys, who are probably brothers, have a deeply ingrained sibling rivalry going on as they refuse to even look at each other ... but they do tend to stare at ME, even though I get the sense that they're seeing THROUGH me rather than seeing me My concern is for the wellbeing of there primal bond. They must get over this estrangement as they need to work together ... perhaps an effective Commanding Officer would get through to my loves? What say you? Or any of you, for that matter?

Please help me... MA is deeeeeply worried ... about Tom and Rupert. They just don't seem to get along these days. Perhaps they need some Zoloft or prozac. perhaps Viagra? Who knows, because I surely don't.

Any help much appreciated.

MA

perhaps they are afraid of the skillet? Will have to try and get a new make-up artists kit and put a little colour in their cheeks for sure ...

BTW ... there WILL be photos of Tom and Rupert, eventually ... Rupert will eventually be attired much as my Uncle Eddie would have been in Normandy (and Uncle Phillip, and Uncle Oscar ... all with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles who landed in Normandy ... Uncle Oscar was the only one to make it home.) Rupert currently wears a camouflaged helmet from WW2., uniform, and leather vest (I forget the term Geoff used for the vest... sorry )

There will also eventually be other photos that i will post in the 1944 POWS Thread ... regards my Uncle Eddie

Now ... back to you all

Yes, it is so. Master Sunray beat me to it in telling you that I do, indeed, have the Sten gun I relieved Rupert of it as he looked as though he needed some R&R ... that's quite the gun too! MA likes it so much that perhaps the frying pan will have a rest

Tom and Rupert: On a serious note, I really am feeling quite attached to these two. It's amazing to see them in our front room, dressed in WW2 uniform and helmets ... gives a sense of some "real time" to thoughts of WW2 when I look at them while thinking about the history. If I tag along to some future events and Tom and Rupert come along for displays, I'll enjoy helping setup

(Hey Skag ... ya think it's gonna snow? Don't know whether to track the car or not this weekend : )

Hey, you two...reference your last paragraph...be very cognizant of travelling conditions.

Everything up here is DOW (Depending on Weather).

Just today, there's freezing drizzle/sleet/fog/70kph winds. We're not even venturing out the door.

Being concerned about your collective health, I'd recommend a last minute SITREP Sat morn, failing that, some other week-end.

Hi Jon,

Yes ... I checked the weather report last night for Saturday/Sunday ... snow and -13 expected for TO area and I figure it could be worse there? I too am concerned about collective health because of the vehicle the collective would be travelling in.

Geoff mentioned that everything is ALWAYS DOW ... so ... we'll shoot and hope for this weekend, failing that ... yes the Master Sunray will SITREP Sat morning I'm sure ... but visit, it'll happen when it works I guess I very much look forward to meeting Missus Jon Skagfeld! Please pass that on for Ma ? Thanks

BTW ... weather here is crap right now... am popping pills for the first time since I got here ... rain/damp ... oh :
