CMP Serial Number Locations
Can anyone advise where I find the serial numbers on the chassis of CMP (Ford and Chevrolets)? I know they typically have them on the plates on the top of the dashes, but if they are missing what can I use to identify them.

Early Cab 11 Fords (and maybe cab 12, but not sure) serial number is under the left door on the frame. Cab 13s it can (but not always) be found on the rear right frame rail near the spring hanger.

Belive there is an early thread
Hi
I'm pretty sure there is an earlier thread on MLU about Serial Number locations. That included example locations and photographs. Along with discussion about various efforts to make up list of surviving vehicles. Some where so lightly stamped apparently even light surface rust would obscure or obliterate the numbers. My personal belief is that numbers never got stamped on a lot of trucks. Cheers Phil
