Default What are these bins

My friend has a couple of unique bins and wondered if anyone here might be able to identify them and to what there use/Vehicle may have been.

The first bin is what I would recognise as a type made to hold smoke grenade discharger rounds. That construction with the felt padding is typical of British made vehicles although the exact one shown is not one I know.

I somehow suspect it is from a time period before my interest period.

I make no comment about the second box or the seat

Yep. Just checked the installation instruction. Those are them.
