Default WWII Quad, Artillery Gun Tractor, GM

I'm writing to inquire about the purpose of a certain box on the WWII GM Quad. It's located under the rear seat at the side and looks like it may be an ammo box of some sort. See attached picture. Any help would be appreciated.

Default P60 Ammo Box

Since I posted this inquiry I've read that this P60 ammo box might be for four 25 pounder Armour Piercing shells. Can anyone confirm this?
