Default Ford parts source

Does anyone have an Australian source for the steel radiator hose inserts? These are the ones which are in the heads to radiator run.

Part 91C 8290.

Default Have them made

Hi Keith, back when my brother and I were restoring 1934 Fords in the early 60s and all of these after market parts weren't available we would have those pipes bent down at the local muffler shop. Only problem was they did have the little rib at the ends to help seal them. Didn't seem to be a problem with the low or no preasure systems though.

Default Make them

Yes, I've been thinking that's probably the best thing to do - we used to be able to get them as NOS in khaki.

Default How to find NOS parts

Guarantee that the week after you have a pair made get them painted etc that you will find pair of NOS. Never fails.

Hi Keith.
Plumbers use a very similiar hose insert and they come in all different diameters..If you came to Ottawa,I could send you home with a hockey sock full.
Try a good plumbing wholesaler..
(I used to work in a plumbing wholesale outfit,so I used to sell them)..They are still used and readily available.
